Drain excavation
Drain excavation involves physically digging a hole or trench in order to reach the area that needs attention. In many instances a problematic drain or sewer is so severely damaged that the only course of action is to dig down and address the problem. Some drainage systems can date back over 100 years. They may be suffering from from long term erosion, leaks or in extreme case even collapse. A professional excavation will allow the onsite engineers to physically get to the issue and fix it.

Excavating the drain
There is more to consider prior to any excavation than simply grabbing the spades. We will firstly conduct a thorough site and health and safety assessment. Upon completion of this we carefully excavate the area so as not to upset the surrounding infrastructure. Once excavated we will address the underlying issue and ensure that the area is fully repaired. We will then leave the area as we found it, with any materials to be removed disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
When is excavation required?
Hopefully never. Excavation is often the last resort when trying to identify the problem affecting your drain or sewer. However if all else fails and excavation is the only option we will often do so as a result of:
- Erosion, subsidence or collapse to the drain or sewer
- Old drainage repairs or replacement
- Tree roots
- Flooded pipes
- Multiple leaks
